About the Library Friends

The Friends of the Amy Van Andel Library is a non-profit organization established in early 2021 by a group of Ada residents who fervently believe that a local library greatly enhances the quality of life in our community.

The mission of the Friends of the Amy Van Andel Library is to support the library through volunteerism and fundraising, enhancing the relationship between the library and the community.

 

Funds raised by the Friends are used  to support enhancement of library programs, services and facilities that are not within the capacity of the Library’s annual budget, and that have a direct benefit to library users.

​

On May 11, 2022, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) determined that we are a public charity that is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), and that donations to us are charitable contributions that may be deductible from income subject to federal income taxes under IRC Section 170, as of February 8, 2021.
